diy ginger lime coconut sugar scrub

We had such a great weekend away for our anniversary! It’s such a huge blessing that the hubs and I like to relax the same way – restful hotel, great food, and shopping (okay, that last one’s for me mostly, but he’s such a trooper!). :) As we ventured out into the Atlanta shopping experience, we came across a natural beauty supply shop and got suckered into popped in for a little tutorial on natural scrubs and lotions. The guy we talked to was super informative and friendly. He let us try a Dead Sea salt scrub (which apparently is the best kind out there) and it really did make our hands silky soft. Incredible.

So, when I returned home I got inspired to make my very own scrub from the natural products we have in our kitchen cupboard!4.28.14 ginger lime coconut sugar scrub 1It was easy-peasy to make this awesome scrub and it will leave your hands silky smooooth. All you need is:

  • 1 1/2 cups of coconut oil
  • 1 cup of coconut sugar
  • 1 tblsp lime juice (fresh squeezed)
  • 1 tsp ground ginger

Just put all these tasty ingredients into a bowl and mix it up. Then pour into a glass jar. I chose to use a small Ball jar which was the perfect size for the amount in this recipe.

And here is a cute label you can download and print to use. Just cut it out and put it on the top of the jar between the airtight seal and the lid (print at 2.125 x 2.125 inches).

Use it daily in the shower to smooth your hands, elbows, knees and heels. Just put about a 1/2 teaspoon size portion on the area you want to soften, massage it over the area, rinse and dry. Your skin will be supple and soft. Enjoy!
