quick & simple diy valentine’s day idea

I’m bulking up the blog with lots of ideas for you for Valentine’s Day! There will be a truck load of ideas later this week that I’ll share with you, but for now here’s an adorable (and easy!) idea I came across as I was perusing other WordPress sites this week. This sweet mama blogger at Be Kind and Smile Often had a super cute and simple idea that you can easily make for friends, loved ones and the neighbors up the road.

I did a little research of my own and discovered that this is truly one of the best and least expensive ideas I’ve seen for Valentine’s Day. Here’s all you need to make this sweet gift:

A small pot like one of these, which you can find at Home Depot {left: chalkboard herb pot, $9.98 | right: terra cotta herb pot, $2.98}.

Then all you need is either an herb plant or a couple of packets of herbs, both of which are under $5 at Home Depot, or your local garden shop.

Finish it off with some cute ribbon or jute string and a few hearts, and you’ve got yourself an easy-cheesy, no fuss Valentine’s Day gift that will keep on giving long after Valentine’s Day!

To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. | Isaiah 61:3
