party planning 101 {with printable checklist}

2.10.14 Party Planning ChecklistOne of my all time favorite hobbies (if you can call it that) is party and event planning. I love the prep, the invitations, the food, the decor, the people. Love. It. All. I recently hosted a Baby Girl Shower, as well as a Valentine’s Card Party, and you’ll see my party planning love in action again soon as I hosted a Baby Boy Shower this week. My husband has certainly become accustomed to my affinity for events since it usually requires his help, too! There’s just something so satisfying to me about getting a bunch of people in a room to celebrate.

As I’ve been planning/hosting parties and events for quite a number of years, I’ve learned a few things along the way that make it easy to get my party on. As I’ve mentioned before, I simply love lists, and when a list is unto a spectacular party or event, all the better!

With spring approaching, there will be a gamut of birthdays, weddings, graduations, newborns and holidays to celebrate life with people you love. Don’t. Panic. All you need to know to plan your next shindig is right here. Just click on the checklist below, print it out and you’ll be well on your way to being the hostess-with-the-mostest at your next party, gala, soiree, shower or event. {And, if you’re hosting a shower, check out the best 10 Tips for Hosting a Shower.} Party on!

  1. Visiting from SITS and this is such perfect timing! I’m planning my sister’s Bridal Shower and just recently realized that there is a LOT to do. I get so overwhelmed and don’t even know where to start. Thanks for this checklist; it really simplifies things and will let me take things step by step. It even helped reassure me that I’ve already taken several steps in the right direction, so I don’t need to be too hard on myself. Thanks for the resource!

  2. I’m an event planner teaching a class to teenage girls and this is the perfect take home for them to use on their own! I just can’t get it to print full size. Keeps coming out super small or on two pages. Any recommendations on how to print it on one full page?

    1. Hi Nicole! I’m sorry you haven’t been able to print it! I’ll email you a copy that should be good to print! I’m so glad you’ll be using it for the girls! Enjoy! :)

    1. Hi abby! I added a “CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD” link below the image in this post, so you should be good to go! Let me know if it works for you, though, and if not I can email you a copy! Hope your party is wonderful!
