I’m loving the nautical theme for this spring. It’s clean, classic and simple to incorporate around the home. I recently wandered through the Dollar Tree up the street and found this mirror that clearly needed an upgrade.
I’ve been wanting to create something nautical for a little while now, and this was the perfect “ginny pig” for my nautical project. All I needed was some rope or thick twine. I found this awesome-ness at The Hob.
It’s thick like rope, but way more pliable to form around a mirror. I whipped out my glue gun and got to gluing.
The result was this ship-shape, clean-as-a-whistle, nautical mirror, and it cost me under $2.00 to make. Score!

I love how the mirror turned out, such a good idea!

Thanks Lauren! And it hardly took any time at all to make! My kind if project! :)
Love this!! And if by “The Hob” you meant “Hobbie Lobbie”, then that’s my new favorite abbreviation. Love you and your blog. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, Meggi! And YES, The Hob = Hobby Lobby… it’s my pet name for my “second home!” ;) Love you!
What a fun upcycle. I was just thinking of doing something similar with a larger mirror, maybe I’ll need thicker twine, or tons of patience.
Thanks, Audra! Haha… yes, I ended up going a third time around the mirror after I took the photo of it to make it look a little thicker! Thanks for stopping by!
Beautiful mirror! Love this!
