top 10 apps to get organized today

I realize that not everyone feels the same way I do about organization, or lists, or schedules. Nonetheless, we all need a little help keeping tabs on the day-to-day activities of life. Since I love organization, and since I’m all for helping others get more organized, here are the top 10 apps to get organized for iPhone and Android users alike.

Apps to get organized

I can remember being in high school and never needing to write anything down. I can also remember when I started forgetting things when I got my first job. “What letter goes into which envelope?” “When do I need to order stamps?” “What’s my password?” It was then that I discovered the wonderful world of list-making. As I progressed in my administrative skills in my early twenties, I can remember having a binder filled with blank sheets of paper. Down one column of each sheet I would write the date. In the middle column I would write the tasks that needed to get done. In the last column I would write any special instructions I needed to remember. And of course I loved crossing off each task as I completed it. And if I remembered and completed a task that wasn’t written down, I would write it down anyway just for the satisfaction of crossing it off the list (I know some of you are now rolling your eyes at me at this point, while others of you are breathing a sigh of relief realizing you aren’t koo-koo after all!). At the end of each day I would then transfer (read: re-write) each unfinished task to the next day. Whew! It all makes me tired just thinking about it. I did this for years, y’all. Years.

Then, along with the advancement of technology, and the age of the smart phone, I was delighted to move away from these written monstrosities and move into the digital and easy-to-use version of the list. Still able to keep track of tasks on particular days. Still able to get the satisfaction of checking off each task. All with the ease of the touch of a button or the swipe of a finger. Relieved? To say the least. Overjoyed? Of course. Satisfied because all is right with the world now? Absolutely!

Don’t be intimidated by getting yourself organized. Just download one of these simple-to-use apps and you’ll be well on your way! And, all of these apps can be synced up on your computer, mobile device, phone, etc. Ready. Set. Go.
